Paris Travel Dairy

In the middle of August I went on a little getaway to Paris with my boyfriend, what more could you want than to end the summer by visiting the city of love.

We stayed at the Grand Hotel Leveqe which was right in the heart of the city and a 5 minute walk from the Eiffel Tower. I must admit the journey from the airport to the hotel was stressful to say the least but by our final day we were both pros at using the Metro system.

The weather was beautiful and made exploring all the iconic attractions all the better, I truly don't think I've pinched myself so much on a holiday and repeated the same sentence of "Oh my gosh, I can't believe I'm seeing this in real life!"

I've never been one for trying new dishes, I am what you would call a fussy eater. Although we did try many restaurants all in the favour of my boyfriend, whom tried every unique dish known for being French. I must say though there is no better bread or pastry than any you will get from a store, restaurant or cafe in Paris. YUM, YUM, YUM!

My favourite time of the day would always be nighttime, the sounds of many languages enjoy wine outside the restaurants, the glistening lights along the River Seine and of course there is nothing quite like admiring the Eiffel Tower, and see the flashing lights and the amusing cheers of the crowds below.

My favourite places we visited where...

The Eiffel Tower - Obvs!

This quaint little bookstore I found that every book possible, from any genre. I could have spent hours there, I have to admit I bought quite a few books!

Hôtel des Invalides, we had so much fun exploring there and bought a few souvenirs from here!

Square Jean XXlll was my favourite park, facing the old bridge of locks.

The Champs Eylsees where I got myself a little treat from Sephora - expect a review soon ;)
The Louvre was just amazing, and was more than I even expected! Little tip if you're going there bring ID even if it's a picture and you get in for free.

We did so many amazing things, though our only complaint was that a lot of the locals were particularly rude, something we were warned about prior to the holiday, but still it put a dampener on some days. So be prepared if you're going there!

Paris truly is the city of love, and we have made some amazing memories there that we will cherish when we're old and wrinkly. It was one of the most important things on my bucket list and I'm proudly checking it off, and if you haven't been I truly recommend going there just to take in all the beauty in person.

August Favourites

August feels like it just blinked by, I always hate how quick this particular month goes. Summer ends, schools start again and everything just seems to change, but with another month comes another bunch of favourites so here they are...

The Hills : That was then, this is Now.

From I was about thirteen I feel in love with Laguna Beach and Lauren Conrad became one of my favourite reality TV stars. My love for the Hills just progressed on and like many people I became addicted as did my mum, even my brother watched it (guilty pleasure). So when this reunion episode came out I was so excited, and it did deliver, though I would love to see what some of the other cast members thought!

As many of you know by now I love Tanya and her cosmetics, and I love this shade of nail varnish I had it on for both my holidays and the majority of this month. Super pretty and cute.

I got this as a present from my mum in Portugal, and I love it. It's so cute and very vintage looking, I just think its a nice little addition to my beauty table and has been keeping smiling as it now has some lovely holiday memories.

Girl on the Train

This was my holiday read, and it is one of the best books I've read. I didn't want to put it down, and when the book was coming to an end, I did that think where you try to avoid reading the last few chapters so it won't end. I highly recommend you read this if you haven't!

Yes another show has creeped into my favourites, but my guilty pleasure has been CBB. It was so gripping with all the antics, loved it!

Over summer I really took advantage of my time off, and indulged in some sightseeing in new destinations. I visited, Spain, Portugal and Paris.

Sorry for the delay in my August Favourites going up this late, as some of you may have seen on my Twitter I've been in hospital for a few weeks, and that resulted in me being a crappy blogger! So let me know what you loved last month!

Life update

This blog has been what I would call 'empty' over the past few weeks, and that is because I've had a lot of things going wrong lately, and I thought you guys deserved an update on what's been happening.

My camera and macbook have been playing up since August and I haven't had the chance to get them fixed, so that's delayed a lot of my posts I've already written, I just can't add the images. Very frustrating :(

Then on top of things I ended up in hospital a few weeks ago, because I've got blood clots in my lungs. I've had a history of blood clots, so this was not a good situation and I only just got out of hospital and I'm on bedrest for the next few weeks. Hopefully in this time I'll be able to get blog stuff sorted and get ahead of the game before I start back to uni.

So that's the reasoning behind the lack of posts, really sorry but health comes first an all that! I'm hoping to get some posts up this week and start next week off on a new upload schedule.
